# UMAA Northolt: Martial Arts Academy
UMAA Northolt is a mixed martial arts academy that combines modern MMA training with traditional martial arts philosophy and discipline. Located in the Uxbridge and Hayes area, the academy serves individuals of all fitness levels—from complete beginners to experienced martial artists—who seek comprehensive physical and mental development.
The academy distinguishes itself through its unique fusion approach. Rather than specialising in a single discipline, UMAA draws from eight different combat systems, including Kyokushin Karate, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing. This breadth of expertise is delivered by five black belt instructors with championship titles in K1, Kumite, and Boxing. All instructors are first aid qualified and DBS cleared, ensuring a safe, professional environment.
Training encompasses rigorous physical conditioning—full-contact sparring, high-intensity interval training, and body work—alongside mental discipline through structured classes incorporating isometric holds, silent sitting, and yoga-based stretching. This reflects the academy's philosophy of Bushido, balancing martial effectiveness with traditional values.
UMAA serves diverse populations, having delivered self-defence and inclusive fitness programmes for local authorities. With over 100 students enrolled and accreditation from London Sport and Groundwork, the academy has established credibility in community fitness provision.
